A fully accredited psychologist and works with adults for a range of mental health, emotional and life issues. She is best known for her work in supporting people of Christian faith deal with these challenges.
(Please note, Nicky is no longer offering counselling for couples or people under 18 years).
As a Registered Psychologist, Nicky has over 20 years of experience in the field of counselling and supervision. She works with depression, anxiety, stress (work and ministry), grief and loss, past trauma, life transitions, sexuality, gender and more.
She is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Narrative Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Bowen Systems Theory and Schema Therapy. She is also going to be doing some EMDR training this year.
Nicky builds strong connections with her clients and enables and empowers them to find ways forward through the challenges that confront them. She is keen on using evidence based approaches.
She is also offers external pastoral supervision sessions for those in Christian ministry contexts. She also is training in Spiritual Direction in 2023 and is interested in the intersection between spiritual direction and counselling.
She also works as a consultant to churches needing mental health education for those working in pastoral care roles, ( paid and unpaid) in churches. Please email if you would like her to do a seminar for your church.
